Fundraising for worthy projects can be arduous and very time consuming. It is heartbreaking to see the amount of effort that goes into fundraising for deeply worthwhile projects or causes, without decent results. No-one benefits at all. One of the best ways to raise money for your cause is to put on a circus. Over the years the circus has been proven time and time again to be one of the very best sources for raising funds. It also provides fun wholesome family entertainment, not only for the whole family, but the community too. We may also be able to set up a phone room where we sell tickets on the phone, a very profitable way to raise your much needed funds. Just drop me a line or email if you are looking for a fun and exciting way to raise funds for your organization.

Thank You Very Much,

Mario Vitali

I enjoyed the Columbia website and thank you for your service. My grandparents lived at 423 W.Cherry and so did my mom. My dad was from Lloyd St. My brothers and I spent many 60's and 70's summers at 423 in Chendo and in Brandonville at my uncles farm on Pumping Station Rd. Living in Springfield Pa. now.

Hi, My grandfather, wm. J. Strolis (d:1921), was a past Pres. of your company. We have visited Shenandoah many times to take care of the family "plot" on the hill. Your site is great, but, have you thought about changing the brick background or font for easier reading ? Keep up the good work in Shenandoah ! You have a fantastic history and future !

Good evening.

My name is David Hughes Bryant, and I am writing to you on behalf of my grandfather, David R. Hughes. He is 96 years old, and grew up in Mt. Carmel, PA. Recently, he told me that his grandfather, William Amour, and his God-father, Richard Amour, were instrumental in starting two fire companies in the upstate area: The Columbia Fire Company in Shenandoah PA, and the Anthracite Fire Company, in Mt. Carmel PA.

I would be most grateful for any information you could give me regarding this matter - my grandfather is actually planning a trip upstate this summer just to see the fire companies. He is very proud of his grandfather and God-father's involvement with the companies, and would love to see the stations.

If you have any photos available, that would be most helpful as well - we are compiling family information, and would be most grateful for any information regarding either of these two men. I know that my grandfather would be absolutely delighted with any information you may have concerning his ancestors.

Thanks so much for your time and attention. I will most likely be accompanying my grandfather this summer, and look forward to meeting you and seeing the station.

Thanks again.

Sincerely,

David H Bryant
